Brazil trip checklist: what to sort out before you fly

Saved pages

Use this list in the weeks before a Brazil trip. Tick each step as you finish it; your ticks stay in this browser, so you can come back to it. Every step links to the guide that explains it.

The checklist needs JavaScript. The steps: check visa rules and passport validity; ask a travel clinic about vaccines; buy travel insurance; match destinations to the right month; check public holidays; book anything with a visitor cap; bring two bank cards and some cash; sort out mobile data; plan the airport transfer and long-distance buses; pack a plug adapter; save the emergency numbers; keep copies of your documents.

How to use it

  • Start four to six weeks out. Visas, vaccines and capped tours such as Fernando de Noronha need the most lead time.
  • Print it if you like paper. The print version drops the buttons and keeps the ticks.
  • Staying longer than 90 days? Count your days with the stay calculator and read the visa and residency routes.
